Aspurus® | Clinically Studied Shatavari for Perimenopausal Wellbeing & Women's Health

Perimenopause can affect physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing. Increasingly, women are seeking evidence-based solutions that support health across multiple life stages. As women increasingly seek natural, evidence-based solutions, brands are looking for ingredients that address a broader range of needs than traditional single-symptom approaches.

Aspurus® is a clinically studied full-spectrum Shatavari root extract developed specifically for women's health. While best known for its application in perimenopausal wellbeing, emerging clinical research also supports its relevance across additional life stages. Backed by published human studies, Aspurus® offers a science-based approach to supporting energy, sleep, wellbeing and quality of life through a unique full-spectrum botanical profile.

A New Generation of Shatavari

Aspurus® is a premium Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) root extract developed by Waleria Healthtech using a whole-plant philosophy. Rather than focusing on a single constituent, the extract is designed to mimic the natural phytochemical composition of Shatavari root, preserving the relationships between key compounds found in the original botanical source. It is standardised to 5% Shatavarins and contains seven identified bioactives that reflect the root's natural phytoprofile.

Developed specifically for women's health applications, Aspurus® addresses growing demand for clinically supported ingredients.  Its design reflects the complexity of female physiology. The ingredient features broad-spectrum composition and clinically validated performance.  This makes it an attractive option for brands seeking differentiated solutions within healthy ageing, menopause and women's wellbeing categories.

Aspurus in Women's Health Applications

Suitable for a wide range of women's health formulations, Aspurus® supports concepts targeting perimenopause, menopause transition, healthy ageing and everyday vitality.

Formulators can incorporate the extract into capsules, tablets, powders, sachets, gummies and other dietary supplement formats.

Key Clinical Highlights: Aspurus®

The scientific foundation behind Aspurus® was strengthened by the publication of a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in the Journal of Dietary Supplements. A 12-week study included 150 perimenopausal women. It evaluated the effects of Aspurus® across a broad range of symptom domains. Researchers reported significant improvements versus placebo, with benefits observed from as early as four weeks. Areas assessed included vasomotor symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, mood, stress, sleep quality, sexual wellbeing and overall quality of life.

This study moved beyond traditional approaches. Most menopause studies focus primarily on hot flashes. Researchers evaluated both symptom frequency and symptom intensity across multiple domains using validated assessment tools. Its consumer-centred design provides a more comprehensive understanding of the perimenopausal experience and supports the use of Aspurus® for broad perimenopausal wellbeing applications.

Supporting Women Through Different Life Stages

Women's health needs evolve throughout life, from the reproductive years to perimenopause and beyond. Common priorities include energy, sleep quality, emotional wellbeing, cognitive performance and quality of life. Increasingly, researchers recognise the importance of studying women's health within clearly defined physiological stages.

Recent research has expanded the scientific understanding of Aspurus® beyond perimenopause. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, published in the Journal of Medicine and Life, evaluated 70 women aged 18-42 years reporting low sexual desire. Participants received 300 mg/day of Aspurus® for eight weeks.

Compared with placebo, women receiving Aspurus® experienced a 60.1% improvement in fatigue alongside significant improvements in overall sexual function. Participants tolerated the ingredient well throughout the study.  No serious adverse events were reported.
Unlike many sexual wellbeing studies, this research focused exclusively on reproductive-age women. These results provide insights within a clearly defined hormonal life stage.  Together with previous research in perimenopausal women, the study strengthens the growing evidence base for Aspurus®.

Application Opportunities

Perimenopause and Menopause

Aspurus® is ideally suited for formulations targeting the broad range of changes experienced during the perimenopausal transition. Clinical research has demonstrated benefits across multiple symptom domains, including sleep quality, fatigue, mood, stress, cognitive wellbeing and overall quality of life. This broad clinical profile makes Aspurus® particularly relevant for contemporary menopause concepts that recognise the interconnected nature of women's wellbeing during this life stage.

Sleep, Vitality and Women's Wellbeing

Beyond perimenopause, growing clinical evidence supports additional opportunities for women's health innovation. Research in reproductive-age women demonstrated improvements in fatigue and overall wellbeing measures, supporting formulations focused on vitality, resilience and daily performance. Increasing interest in sleep, energy and wellbeing creates opportunities for brands seeking clinically researched solutions across multiple life stages. These results provide insights within a clearly defined hormonal life stage.
